Ocean blue, what have I done to you

It's been a week and a half since my birthday which is very depressing. But I'm now sixteen! Part of me is happy I've reached this milestone in my life but sometimes it feels like life is going to fast. Anyway on a lighter note, I thought I'd share with you some of the presents I got for my birthday!

Topshop 'Blackwatch' trousers, Pull and Bear 'dinosaur 'jumper, two door cinema  club records (for my new turntable),  'diary of Adrian Mole', black velvet slippers, Topshop black skinny jeans

main present from Mum and Dad- some IKON loafers in burgundy
I had a really great day- luckily we were on a school trip to the Tate Britain on the actual day. We played hide and seek for most of it, probably should have been preparing for our gcse but oh well. But the weekend before me and a few friends saw two door cinema club at the O2 in Birmingham. It was a truly superb concert with a great atmosphere. My love for two door has increased even more. But since then I've been listening to Bastille (who supported) and Swim Deep. This Swim Deep song is so good:

DIY Earring Holder

I don't know if its just me but I literally lose earrings every time I put them on. Usually this is because when I take them off I don't know where to put them/ can't be bothered to put them somewhere safe. And how frustrating is it when you only have one earring of the pair?! So this doily earring holder is perfect to stop all those lost earrings. It took me about 5 minutes to do, its that simple!

You will need:
A crochet doily
An embroidery hoop (to fit the doily)

Take your embroidery hoop
Place your doily in the centre, with space round the outside

Fit the hoop together. Tighten the clasp and pull the doily so it's taut.

Pin your earrings to the doily

Vintage Room

Hi all,
Since I've now finished all my gcse mocks I actually have some time on my hands! Worryingly, this often leads to me having a pyjama weekend but oh well. Last weekend I didn't actually leave the house I had so much work to do! All this time in my room did give me the opportunity to take some nice pictures though. So this is my room! I feel happy with the decorating at last, but I'm sure in a few years or so I'll want to re-do it again. I bought the record player in the urbanoutfitters sale (it was half price:)) and it is literally perfection. Can't wait till my birthday, when I'll hopefully get some more records!

Lucy Chadwick

I've been looking for inspiration  for a blogpost for a while now, and then I stumbled across this blog about Lucy Chadwick: http://www.designmom.com/2012/12/lucy-chadwick/ . Here's the Selby film made for Zara about her.

Firstly, I'm in love with her style. Her glasses make me wish I had poor eyesight (touch wood). But also her interior style is so interesting. I now feel an urge to redecorate my room....

Tea fit for the Queen

It was my Grandma's birthday a few days ago, and we celebrated in true british style. What a great traditional way to celebrate the olympics in London also- home of tea, scones and the queen. And how good was the opening ceremony the other day! We laid the table with vintage teacups and saucers and also a cake stand. Doilies and flowery napkins and paper cups were also a necessity. To eat we had cucumber and ham sandwiches; slices of quiche; and a raspberry and white chocolate sponge cake- decorated with its own personal bunting. What a fabulous afternoon!

the cake accompanied with bunting!
