DIY- tribal boots

This is just a guideline DIY on how to make these amazing boots because I know it's hard to buy exactly the same products. I've been really into the tribal and Aztec prints of this season and I wanted to create a piece of clothing with bold tribal prints and colours. I got my idea from the main picture on my last polyvore post. I hope this inspires you on how you can 'tribalise' an existing clothes or shoes!

Method:

I bought these pay of 'granny' shoes from a charity shop for £4.99! They are made of a suede type material.

Then I cut 2 strips of this material (it was an old tablecloth before) to fit around the width of the top of the shoes. The strips were around 10cm tall. I then frayed the bottom of the strips to add to the tribal effect.

I then sewed a line above the frayed area to stop it unravelling further. I also sewed a hem along the top of the strips.

Then I glued both strips on using super-glue and pegged them to dry. Then remove the pegs the next morning and you have your finished tribal botas! :)
