DIY chunky chain

Now I don't know about you, but the past few months I have literally been seeing chunky gang$ta chains lining shop isles. Just look at the topshop website- (topshop chains). But is it just me who thinks over £10 seems a little too much to splash on just a season staple. Hence, (great word) I had a go at creating this piece for less. Unlucky topshop, you just got owned.

What you'll need:
Gangster chain, you can get them cheap online or at a fancy dress/party shop
-spray paint (should be opaque white)
-scarf to cover your mouth

Start by using pliers to fix the chain to the length you wish. Look in the mirror to see how far it hangs down your neck, and edit the length until your satisfied.

Then get your true gangstaar on avec a scarf- at least it stops you breathing in paint fumes. Then lay the chain out on the newspaper and spray (in short even bursts) along the length of the chain. Once this coat dries, turn the chain over and repeat.

Make sure you get all the nooks and crannies. One way of getting an even coat of paint on the chain is to hang it from something and spray. I hung it from my trampoline, which was actually quite effective.

And voila, looks pretty similar to this little £12.50 number don't ya think.
